PURPOSE:
Resourceful and adaptable Multi-Skilled Technical Shop Support Specialist with hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, MIG/TIG welding, CNC machine support, and shop maintenance. Known for precision, problem-solving, and a strong commitment to workplace safety and efficiency. Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced shop environments by supporting cross-functional operations—from material handling and packing to troubleshooting and routine equipment upkeep.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Mechanical Assembly: Perform accurate mechanical assemblies using hand and power tools based on drawings or work instructions. Assemble fixtures, tools, or customer parts with precision.
• Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Identify basic mechanical issues during assembly or welding and resolve them independently or escalate when needed.
• Welding Work: Carry out high-quality MIG/TIG welds for production or fabrication tasks. Read and interpret welding symbols and specifications.
• CNC Machine Support: Load/unload parts into CNC machines as needed. Follow the machinist’s instructions and basic setup procedures.
• General Shop Duties: Keep the work area clean and organized. Follow 5S principles to maintain order and efficiency in the shop.
• Packing & Shipping: Clean, protect, and carefully pack machine parts for delivery. Prepare labels, packaging, and assist with shipment coordination.
• Material Handling: Load and unload delivery trucks. Move materials and finished parts safely using pallet jacks or forklifts.
• Perform Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Maintain and repair a wide range of shop equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
• Ensure Safety and Compliance Follow safety protocols and standard operating procedures. Participate in safety training and report any unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Inventory and Documentation Track and manage inventory of tools, parts, and equipment. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system updates.

EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience in the mechanical and machine operations industry would be advantageous.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Solid experience in welding (MIG/TIG); Weld test will be performed.
• Familiar with mechanical assembly and general shop practices.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools safely.
• Basic understanding of measurement tools like calipers, tape measures, gauges, etc.
• Pneumatic system knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to read and follow simple mechanical drawings or work instructions.
• Safety-conscious, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
• Forklift or pallet jack operation experience would be an advantage.
• Manage duties and priorities with minimal supervision and work independently.
• Takes initiative and completes assignments reliably.
• Able to move materials physically and perform general physical tasks as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Work is generally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting to 25 lbs.
• Will experience periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.
