The position ensures seamless connectivity from IT rooms to end devices in both new construction and renovation projects across the U.S. region.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the coordination and oversight of small to medium-sized IT infrastructure projects, primarily focused on fiber optics, copper cabling, and related installations.
- Support vendors by granting access to IT rooms and scheduling necessary work throughout the plant and U.S. region. Ensure vendors follow safety protocols and timelines for cabling, wall, and ceiling installations.
- Monitor operational systems and infrastructure to ensure proper functioning. Troubleshoot outages or alarms promptly to restore operations with minimal downtime.
- Support new construction and renovation projects, working closely with contractors and teams to ensure that IT infrastructure needs are met according to business requirements.
- Ensure all projects comply with global IT standards, safety protocols, and audit requirements. Ensure adherence to installation standards for cabling and infrastructure.
- Lead agile processes for multiple infrastructure initiatives, managing the project lifecycle from ideation through successful implementation. Ensure project deliverables and milestones are met.
- Communicate project status, requirements, and updates to stakeholders, making presentations and offering alternatives when necessary.
- Align with global teams and functions on project execution, strategy, and solutions to ensure a unified approach across all regions.
- Attend on-site construction walkthroughs, particularly at new construction or renovation sites, 1-2 times a week as needed. This requires physical presence on-site, and the schedule may change depending on project demands.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor related to infrastructure project management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS degree in computer science or business or the equivalent of four years of experience in an Enterprise IT environment.
- 3+ years of IT experience, with a focus on infrastructure projects involving fiber optics, copper cabling, and network connectivity.
- 3+ years of experience managing small to medium-sized projects in a corporate or industrial environment.
- 3+ years of experience analyzing data and generating reports on project performance, timelines, and deliverables.
- Proven experience driving infrastructure projects from concept to implementation.
- 3+ years of experience in communicating both technical and user-friendly project updates and ideas.
- 3+ years of experience leading projects or systems within an IT environment.
- Experience working in an international environment, collaborating with global teams (preferred).
- Experience in construction environments, understanding site-specific requirements for infrastructure projects (required).
- BICSI certification (preferred).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to, sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.
FLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE:
- Schedule: Day Shift with a 40-hour week schedule
- Location: 70% Spartanburg, SC, 30% Other Locations (U.S.), Remote work may be allowed 10-20% after the onboarding period, depending on project needs.
- Travel: Occasional travel required (1-2 trips per year within the U.S.)
- Assignment Start: ASAP, Contractor position
