Logistics Quality Specialist-Returnable Container Management
PURPOSE:
Ensures process quality and adherence with regard to returnable container management processes. Audits suppliers, identifies improvement requirements, and follows up on their implementation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts research on software products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
- Reviews returnable container management processes and process adherence at suppliers
- Identifies process deviations & misuse and defines corrective actions
- Actively engages and challenges suppliers regarding container management process
- Penalizes suppliers for container misuse and justifies and/or defends penalties.
- Coaches suppliers and other stakeholders in container management processes and standard
- Performs and documents audits; follows up on identified deliverables. -Escalates where necessary.
- Identifies and recognizes implications of container process adherence to other logistics processes and to inbound supply.
- Interacts with both external and internal interfaces with focus on returnable container management and policies.
- Engages in key container steering activities
- Represents client in a professional and manner no matter how stressful the situation
- Establishes working networks with peers and management to ensure assignment effectiveness.
- Provides transparency via assigning measures to suppliers, by maintaining a list of open points and creating PowerPoint presentations.
- Organizes effective meetings, provides directions, and follows through to ensure measures are met.
- In the event of micro-management or an emergency situation, may be required to assume supplier logistics tasks: Logistics Planning, Production Planning, Material Control, Inventory Analyst, Logistics Manager or any other Logistics' task as delegated by the Section Manager
- Self directed to carry out assigned project responsibilities and meet all deliverables within the designated deadlines.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Psychology or the equivalent of 4 years experience in the related area preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- 4+ years experience in Logistics to include issue resolution in the following areas: Returnable container management
- Supply Chain Planning,
- Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Material Control, Production Control, Warehouse Operations, Transportation
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- High degree of flexibility, initiative and self-motivation.
- On-site experience steering Logistics improvements at Suppliers, while developing successful working relationships under stressful conditions.
- Knowledge with the following systems : SAP, SCQ Ample, LPKM, GIS
- Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel application knowledge.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to, sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.
FLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE:
- Location: Greer, SC 29651 10% onsite 90% Suppliers
- Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Weekly Overtime: As needed.
- Weekend Work: As needed
- Assignment Start: ASAP.
