We are currently seeking a Electrical Installation Auditor for a client in the automotive industry, specializing in car manufacturing. This is a 1099 Independent Contractor role based in Columbia, SC that requires onsite presence. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct comprehensive audits of electrical installations from main substations to field-level components (motors, sensors, HMIs, conduits)
  • Validate compliance with NEC and NFPA standards, including breaker sizing, wiring, and safety enclosures
  • Prepare structured audit reports with documented findings and photographic evidence
  • Participate in technical review meetings
  • Submit digital reports on a weekly basis and maintain audit records throughout the project

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certified Electrician license (in the state of South Carolina)
  • Proficiency in reading and working with EPLAN wiring diagrams and single-line power distribution plans
  • In-depth knowledge of NEC and NFPA codes relevant to industrial environments
  • Ability to work independently and provide own tools and equipment
  • Expertise in industrial electrical systems and regulatory compliance.

FLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE:

  • Location: Columbia, SC
  • Schedule: ASAP with approximately 400 hours (about 10 weeks full-time equivalent)
  • Type: 1099 Independent Contractor, you are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and equipment
  • Salary: Hourly rate must include all labor and incidental costs
  • Reimbursement: Travel or accommodation reimbursement only if pre-approved
  • Benefits: This role does not include employment benefits
