We are currently seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer Stamping for a client in the automotive industry, specializing in Vehicle Directional Control Systems. This is a Contract to Direct-hire role based in Hopkinsville, KY that requires onsite presence. PURPOSE: 
Assist in the development and implementation of Quality Procedures, related to Suppliers, in compliance with the IATF 16949 Quality System Standard. Interpretation of established Customer and internal product quality
standards to Suppliers. Participate in and/or coordinate APQP activities. Ensure implementation of necessary procedures and work instructions to meet requirements of Quality System. Affect processes when needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Participate in and/or coordinate internal APQP activities, including development of schedules and status reports.
  • Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials, and Purchasing to provide all documents and tests per internal and Customer requirements.
  • Coordinate check fixture and gage development with Suppliers.
  • Provide supplier support as needed.
  • Coordinate Supplier PP AP Submissions per internal and Customer requirements and maintain status reports per Supplier Management Manual.
  • Maintain supplier PPAP Submission files.
  • Alert management of any schedule concerns.
  • Assure the PPAP Approvals, or Interim Approvals, are communicated per applicable procedures to all affected departments.
  • Provide requested information to Quality Engineers regarding PPAP.
  • Participate in MRB meetings as assigned per procedures.
  • Assist in maintenance of receiving Inspection sampling plans based on part histories.
  • Assist Receiving Inspection in QPR issuance, Supplier contact, and follow up.
  • Coordinate in processing of QPR's internally, including any sorting, rework, returns, and applicable chargebacks to suppliers.
  • Monitor and follow up Supplier corrective actions, including Supplier visits.
  • Maintain Supplier history reports per internal QOS and Supplier Management Manual.
  • Assist in coordination of Corrective Action System (CAS).
  • Participate in and/or coordinate CIA activities as assigned.
  • Provide quality support as in regards to Supplier Quality issues
  • Communicate supplier quality concerns to applicable departments
  • Maintenance of receiving inspection instructions per Control Plan requirements and applicable procedures.
  • Process potential and capability studies as needed.
  • Monthly activity reports
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • CQE, CQA, or 4 year degree (or willingness to obtain within one year).
  • Minimum 2 years automotive experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Stampings is the main commodity and a must have skill
  • Familiar with IA TF 16949 Quality System requirements.
  • Experienced in problem solving and reporting (i.e., 8-0, PR/R, QR, etc.). Computer literate.
  • Experience in blueprint reading and GD&T
  • Experience in Internal or External System Auditing
  • Metrology (CMM, gage calibration, measuring systems, etc.)
  • Experience in advanced quality planning
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Team player.
  • Self-motivated.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.

FLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE:
  • Location: Hopkinsville, KY
  • Schedule: Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. This position may require extended hours and possible weekend work.
  • Overtime: AS needed
  • Travel: As needed
  • Assignment Start: ASAP
