Weld Destruct Technician -Madison, AL
SWJ Technologie specializes in providing engineering, planning, and project management services
across various industries. We are currently seeking a Weld Destruct Technician to perform scheduled
destructive weld inspections and report findings and feedback, for an important client in the
automotive industry, specializing in vehicle manufacturing. This is a contractor role based in Madison Alabama that requires onsite presence. If you are eager to grow your career and make a meaningful

PURPOSE:
• Intentionally breaking or stressing welds to evaluate their mechanical properties
• Crucial role in ensuring the strength and reliability of welded joints
• Providing feedback and document findings to improve internal performance
• Preventing failures in critical applications and finished products
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conducts visual audits and inspections as required
• Knowledge of metal works and processes
• To perform scheduled destructive weld inspection in accordance with specified frequencies
• To record test results on provided control cards and/or inspection reports
• Maintain open communication and proper feedback information to the respective personnel
• Maintain performance of all equipment assigned to the area
• Responsible for attaining all weld destruct samples
• Perform assigned tasks in a safe manner
• Perform other related duties as required
• Safety protocols and proper use of protective gear
• Fire prevention and ventilation
• Familiarity with different metals and their reactions to welding processes
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Grade 12 education, GED, or equivalent and work experience
• A working knowledge both written and verbal of English and Mathematics
• Good computer skills using Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience of SPC charting and interpreting
• Comprehensive knowledge of various measuring equipment and tools
• Must be physically capable of performing teardown duties
• Must be proficient in the operation of all designated tools and equipment
• Problem solving skills capability to troubleshoot welding defects and suggest improvements
• Precision and Attention to detail and ability to detect flaws and inconsistency in welds
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Work is generally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop
• Setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling
• bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.
FLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE:
• Location: Madison, AL
• Schedule: Part time and as required for daytime hours
• Assignment Start: ASAP
