PURPOSE:
Performs planning of logistics structures in the plant and the warehouses.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage strategic planning, reporting, and logistics process planning to support company targets and long-term enterprise planning (LUP/LIP).
- Lead logistics projects independently, including cross-functional project teams and special assignments.
- Design and plan warehouse layouts, connected logistics elements, and future plant expansion in coordination with Facilities & Energy (2D layouts, 3D structures).
- Analyze and stabilize overall material flow and logistics processes, including lineside planning, supermarkets, commissioning processes, and integration of new product content.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative evaluations, including cost of inventory storage, Days of Supply simulations, headcount and equipment requirements, and structural/logistics data analysis.
- Develop methods, methodologies, and decision papers to support warehouse strategy, structural investments, and process improvements.
- Perform financial analysis of contracts with logistics service vendors and manage vendor interactions regarding structure and layout.
- Monitor and update logistics planning tools using MTM or time study data, and perform time analyses to optimize efficiency.
- Develop regular status reports and KPIs to measure project progress and logistics performance.
- Apply VPS (Value Added Production System) principles, Standard Work concepts, and problem-solving techniques.
- Ensure compliance with 5S, safety standards, and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS degree, preferably with focus in Logistics or Supply Chain planning or the equivalent of 4 years experience in the related area in a manufacturing environment.
- 1+ years of related experience to include 2 of the following areas: Material control, warehouse/plant operations, or warehouse/plant layout. Experience must include 1 years of supervisory/project leadership.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Logistics/ Material flow/ Line side Planning/ Supply Chain Planning experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication and interpersonal skills to work in a cross functional role.
- Experience within time study methods as REFA, MTM.
- Work experience within LPP (Logistics planning platform)
- Material flow or Line side Planning experience, Analytical, Proficient in MS Excel tool, Cross functional work experience and is a quick learner.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.
FLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE:
- Location: Spartanburg, SC
- Schedule: Mon-Fri, 40 hours/week
- Overtime: As required
- Assignment Start: ASAP
