This is an eight-month contract position located in Greenville, South Carolina, requiring on-site presence. This role is responsible for driving continuous improvement within assembly operations. Working closely with manufacturing engineering and cross-functional teams, the position focuses on process optimization, support of new product launches, quality improvement, and increasing overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) through hands-on and data-driven engineering solutions.

PURPOSE:
This role is responsible for driving continuous improvement within assembly operations. Working closely with manufacturing engineering and cross-functional teams, the position focuses on process optimization, support of new product launches, quality improvement, and increasing overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) through hands-on and data-driven engineering solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives in close collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering (MFE) personnel
- Update and maintain routings in SAP and support the launch and industrialization of new product variants
- Create and maintain work instructions, data setting sheets, and other production-related documentation
- Collaborate with other MFEs and cross-functional departments to improve OEE through process optimization
- Work directly with assembly teams to improve defect detection and camera-based inspection systems
- Analyze production data (scrap, quality, downtime) to define corrective actions with the team
- Support and implement process improvements directly on the shop floor
- BA/BS degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- minimum 5 years in an engineering role

- Experience with camera detection and vision systems (Keyence, Cognex, or similar)
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on experience driving process improvements in a manufacturing or assembly environment
- Ability to work cross-functionally with production, quality, and engineering teams
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience with TOX or Kistler presses and related data collection systems
- Background in leak testing processes and equipment
- Previous experience in automotive or industrial assembly environments
- Hands-on experience with Siemens HMIs and basic controls systems
- Advanced experience with vision systems (ideally Keyence or Cognex)
- Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
