PURPOSE:

The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, hands-on experience with automation and robotics, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment in the Bodyshop.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automation issues across welding lines, robots, conveyors, and fixtures.
- Identify root causes of recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
- Monitor and reduce unplanned downtime while improving equipment availability and reliability.
- Collaborate closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Support equipment upgrades, layout changes, and process optimizations.
- Ensure maintenance documentation, procedures, and safety standards are followed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree or certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Several years of hands-on experience in a automated manufacturing environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems, including robotics and PLC-based equipment.
- Familiarity with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), Lean Manufacturing, and structured problem-solving tools (e.g. 5-Why, Ishikawa).
- Experience in automotive production or other high-volume industries.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and to communicate effectively across departments.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience with industrial robots (e.g. KUKA, FANUC) and automation systems.
- Familiarity with Bodyshop-specific technologies and joining methods (e.g. resistance spot welding, MIG/MAG, adhesive bonding).
- Knowledge of CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to, sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.
