PURPOSE:

The role works closely with transportation providers and internal process partners to improve operational efficiency, standardize processes, and maintain consistent service performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor, evaluate, and document transportation service provider performance on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Track KPIs, identify performance gaps and non-conformances, and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
- Establish and manage structured escalation processes for recurring performance issues.
- Coordinate escalation activities to ensure timely support, resolution, and accountability.
- Lead and support projects focused on transportation provider performance and operational improvements.
- Provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency, collaboration, visual management, and implementation of best practices.
- Collaborate with transportation service providers and internal process partners affected by transportation operations.
- Develop and maintain performance targets and conduct documented quarterly performance reviews with service providers.
- Ensure process standardization across all shifts through process updates, documentation, and effective communication.
- Analyze operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to transportation processes and service provider performance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Fequent on-site interaction with transportation service providers and internal operations teams.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and professional experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of professional experience in logistics, supply chain management, transportation, or transportation service provider management.
- Experience with logistics service provider or supplier contract compliance.
- 3+ years of project management experience.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
- Experience with transportation scheduling and logistics operations.
- Experience analyzing operational data, including predictive analytics and/or statistical risk analysis.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to monitor KPIs, identify performance gaps, and drive corrective actions.
- Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage escalations and hold service providers accountable for performance.
- Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within cross-functional teams
- Experience working with transportation or logistics service providers in a manufacturing environment.
- Automotive manufacturing or automotive supply chain experience.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and process standardization.
- Experience developing and implementing escalation and performance management processes.
- Knowledge of supplier performance management and contract compliance.
- Experience with data visualization, KPI dashboards, and performance reporting.
- Experience leading cross-functional improvement projects.
- Knowledge of logistics best practices, transportation operations, and warehouse processes.
- Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.
- Location: Spartanburg – approximately 20% and Off-site warehouse operations: approximately 80%
- Schedule: Day shift, 40h/w, weekend as required
- Overtime: as required
- Assignment Start: ASAP
