We are currently seeking an IT Infrastructure End User Specialist for a client in the automotive industry, specializing in car manufacturing. This is a long-term Contractor role, 90 % based in Spartanburg, SC that requires onsite presence and permits up to 10% working other location. PURPOSE: 
This role is responsible for leading the planning, implementation, and support of workspace systems and IT end-user infrastructure solutions from concept to deployment, including personal computers, printers, scanners, and other end-user devices. The role manages complex operational and technical projects while ensuring long-term requirements for workspace systems management and planning are met. It serves as the primary contact for workspace operations topics at the facility, ensuring alignment with defined corporate standards. Additionally, the role participates in proof-of-concept (POC) evaluations and provides expert guidance on implementing secure, scalable, and high-performance IT infrastructure end-user solutions. The successful candidate will be organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for IT end-user systems, including their integration with cloud platforms, storage solutions, cybersecurity frameworks (firewalls, intrusion prevention, encryption), and other infrastructure such as mobile devices and video conferencing systems.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain IT end-user infrastructure components, including laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
  • Oversee vendor management and collaboration with external providers for the deployment and support of IT end-user services.
  • Ensure high availability of systems by implementing redundancy, backup strategies, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Optimize IT infrastructure performance through monitoring, capacity planning, and proactive issue resolution.
  • Adhere to compliance and audit requirements by enforcing security policies, implementing access controls, and supporting regulatory standards.
  • Manage ITIL processes, including problem and change management, incident response, and configuration management to ensure service stability and operational efficiency.
  • Manage escalations of unresolved incidents or service requests after an end-user escalation.
  • Document IT end-user infrastructure design, configurations, and best practices to enhance knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Lead end-user infrastructure lifecycle management, including upgrades, patching, and decommissioning to maintain system reliability and security.
  • Collaborate with global IT teams to standardize processes, align on best practices, and support cross-functional IT initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior technicians, ensuring adherence to IT standards and fostering skill development.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, including automation, cloud-native services, and AI-driven IT operations to drive innovation and efficiency.
  • Communicate end-user infrastructure strategies and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure clarity in decision-making processes.
  • Serve as an IT project manager for small to medium-sized projects, overseeing assigned resources, conducting status meetings, and effectively communicating project progress to stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Note: This position requires occasional after-hours, weekend, and holiday work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS/BA in Information Technology OR AA/AS degree with 2 years of professional experience OR 4 years of equivalent IT experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • 5+ years of experience managing enterprise end user IT systems, including end user software systems, client virtualization, hardware, and security concepts. Experience in manufacturing environments is preferred.
    • Windows 10/11, Active Directory
    • Office 365 product suite, including OneDrive and Microsoft Teams Rooms (video conferencing)
    • Acronis DR
    • LAN/WAN networking (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, etc)
    • Routers, switches, access points, and firewalls (including rules)
    • Laptops, printers, Zebra scanners (Android), radios, IoT devices
    • Collaboration toolsets (JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams)
  • 5+ years of experience demonstrating strong communication skills in IT environments. Strong customer service mindset is required.
  • 2+ years of junior leadership experience, mentoring teams or managing IT projects.
  • Demonstrate 2+ years of experience in supplier/vendor management.
  • Apply 1+ years of agile methodology principles in IT infrastructure projects.
  • Utilize 5+ years of experience in IT applications, tools, and technology to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Training
    • 6 Sigma / LEAN methodology.
    • 5S/6S methodology.
  • Licenses and/or Certifications:
    • ITIL certification.
    • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+
    • AWS CCP / Azure Fundamentals or similar
    • PMI CAPM, PMP
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
