PURPOSE:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Conveyors to lead conveyor system projects within the automotive industry. This role is responsible for the planning, execution, and successful completion of conveyor installations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards. The ideal candidate brings strong project management skills, technical understanding of conveyor systems, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams throughout the full project lifecycle.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, execute, and close conveyor system projects, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and quality requirements
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and installation timelines
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, managing expectations, and resolving issues
- Lead and coordinate project teams, including site supervisors and installation crews, ensuring adequate resources and support
- Enforce quality standards across all phases of the project to ensure installations meet specifications and customer requirements
- Monitor and control project costs, track expenses, and report on budget performance
- Provide regular project status updates, including progress reports, cost reports, and risk assessments to stakeholders
- Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues related to conveyor design, installation, and functionality
- BA/BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field preferred
- Equivalent professional experience will be considered
- Minimum 5+ years of project management experience, preferably within the automotive industry
- Proven experience managing complex technical or installation-based projects
- Automotive manufacturing experience is required
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative work environment
- Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
- High level of analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to identify and resolve technical challenges related to conveyor systems
- Experience managing conveyor system installations in automotive manufacturing environments
- Hands-on understanding of mechanical systems and industrial automation
- Experience working with suppliers, contractors, and installation teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently
- Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.
