PURPOSE:
This position provides technical support for complex CNC production machinery, manufacturing equipment, tooling, and processes. The Engineering Technician supports the optimization of manufacturing methods, troubleshooting of equipment and process issues, preventive and predictive maintenance activities, and implementation of long-term corrective actions to improve reliability, quality, productivity, and overall equipment performance.
The position requires strong technical judgment, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while supporting continuous improvement and cross-functional manufacturing initiatives.

PURPOSE:
This position provides technical support for complex CNC production machinery, manufacturing equipment, tooling, and processes. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical support to manufacturing operations and production teams.
- Support the operation, setup, programming, and changeover of CNC machining equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, tooling, and process-related issues.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities for production equipment.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain manufacturing processes, work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Perform quality inspections using attribute and variable gauging equipment.
- Create and modify mechanical drawings for machine components, tools, and fixtures.
- Design and develop tooling and fixtures to support manufacturing operations.
- Support machine installation, relocation, commissioning, and equipment modifications from a mechanical perspective.
- Work closely with machine builders, vendors, engineering, maintenance, and production personnel to resolve technical issues.
- Support prototype builds, new program development, equipment launches, and process improvements.
- Participate in cross-functional teams and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Apply manufacturing improvement methods such as 5S and structured problem-solving.
- Complete assigned technical projects from concept through implementation with minimal supervision.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, manufacturing efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Support assembly processes and provide technical assistance with manufacturing equipment and processes.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Two-year technical degree in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Equivalent technical experience, training, or industry certifications may be considered in place of a technical degree.
- Experience with CAD modeling and detailing using SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, or similar software..
- Manufacturing experience with production machinery and equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and manufacturing equipment issues.
- Basic knowledge of PLC logic and industrial controls.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and GD&T.
- Ability to interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
- Knowledge of machine tools, machining processes, and assembly processes.
- Experience with machine building, equipment installation, or automation troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to use standard Microsoft Office applications.
- CNC machining and CNC programming experience.
- Experience with machine installation, relocation, and commissioning.
- Experience designing and fabricating tooling, fixtures, or machine components.
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Experience supporting prototypes, new program launches, or production development.
- Advanced CAD modeling and mechanical design experience.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, including 5S and structured team problem solving.
- Strong technical aptitude with complex manufacturing systems and automated equipment.
- Ability to manage technical projects from beginning to end with limited supervision.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- On-site position within a large-scale manufacturing facility.
- Requires frequent movement throughout the manufacturing environment and production areas.
- Approximately 90% of the workday may involve walking or moving throughout the facility.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, and stoop as required.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. frequently and heavier materials on an infrequent basis.
- Ability to operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment as required.
- Ability to work at a computer workstation and operate computer terminals.
- Must have sufficient vision to analyze technical information and work with computer terminals and machine centers.
- Must have sufficient hearing to safely operate in a manufacturing environment and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.
