This is an eight-month contract position located in Greenville, South Carolina, requiring on-site presence. Working closely with internal teams and external suppliers, the position is responsible for analyzing tooling and repair data, driving cost-reduction initiatives, and supporting continuous improvement of machining and tooling strategies.

PURPOSE:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support SRT (supplies, tooling, repairs) analysis, forecasting, and reordering activities
- Independently analyze SRT data, including cost and area-based evaluations
- Drive and support cost-down initiatives and corrective actions
- Collaborate with tooling suppliers and vendors to optimize tooling and reduce total manufacturing costs
- Support tooling and machining optimizations across processes such as turning, hobbing, and grinding
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to tooling performance and lifecycle management
- BA/BS degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- minimum 5 years in an engineering role
- Machining, tool & die, or equivalent apprenticeship or technical training may be considered in place of a formal degree
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with tooling suppliers and external manufacturing partners
- Solid understanding of machining processes and tooling optimization
- NC / CNC programming experience, preferably with Siemens 840D
- Background in machining, tool & die, or relevant technical apprenticeship (in lieu of a formal degree)
- Ideal experience in gear machining processes
- Hands-on experience with CNC machining and NC programming
- Experience with machining processes such as turning, grinding, and hobbing
- Automotive machining experience, including steel and aluminum components
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.
